Surf lessons FAQ

We welcome everyone aged 6 to 70. From total beginners to aspiring pros. Our school adapts to all abilities, including kids, individuals with disabilities and tourism-focused groups.

All classes are held at Matosinhos Beach, a beach break along the north coast of Portugal known for consistent waves and easy shore access. Perfect for all surf levels!

Every session includes a wetsuit, surf board, full coaching and post-lesson feedback. You’ll also get a short theory session before hitting the water to learn about safety, tides and techniques.

We recommend arriving 15 minutes early so you have time to suit up and meet your coach at the meeting point.

You’re not alone! It’s completely normal to feel that way at first. We provide high quality Hurley wetsuits designed for comfort, fit and performance so you can feel great the moment you hit the water.

Each surf lesson lasts around 2 hours (with 10–20 minutes of theory and around 90 minutes in the water), depending on conditions and fitness levels.

Yes. All our instructors are certified by the Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI). They’re super passionate about helping every surfer improve.
